![]() Before long, I was playing entire George Winston tunes, and though I didn't realize it at the time, I was also learning how to play. I would put the CD in, listen to a few measures, and then plunk it out as best I could. I remember thinking a wide-eyed "WOW!" and I thought everything about George and his music and being up on that stage playing for a concert hall full of people was just super cool.Īfter that I spent months learning how to play his songs by ear. We were right by the stage, on the left hand side, I could see his hands so clearly and closely and I was mesmerized. When I was 8, my parents took me to see George Winston in concert. There has always just been a connection between the piano and I. if there was a piano or keyboard in the room, I gravitated toward it, longing to touch and play it. I've always had a musical ear, and could figure out any melody I heard. ![]() My earliest memories are around the age of 5, playing piano for show-n-tell in kindergarten. I started playing piano when I was very young. ![]() If I could write this biography with music, it would definitely be a lot more interesting. it is my diary, my journal, my biography. I've also been told that my music is "captivating" and that it transports the listener into worlds of imagination and wonder. Her music may be heard on Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, Enlightened Piano Radio, Radio Tunes Solo Piano Channel, Pandora Radio, Spotify and many others.I've often been told that my music is "haunting and contagious", "relaxing and beautiful", "peaceful and touching". She’s written and played original compositions for several weddings and her music is used by massage therapists, photographers and videographers. Rhonda, her husband and three dogs live in the Seattle area where she has performed at private residences, bookstores and community events, including performances with many other well-known pianists. This October 2015 release, was also named 2015 Christmas and Holiday Album of the Year at. One of the songs from this CD is featured on the Christmas Whisperings 2 Solo Piano compilation CD. ![]() Her most recent release, The Wonder of Christmas, is a collection of 11 traditional and 2 original Christmas carols. In December 2014, Rhonda released her CD, “Safe Harbor”, which was also nominated for Contemporary and Modern Album of the Year at. One of the songs from this CD is featured on the Whisperings Solo Piano Volume 2 compilation CD. Her second CD, “A Wild Beauty” was released in November 2011 and was nominated for Contemporary & Modern Album of the Year at. It was well received, being featured and played on solo piano radio stations and placing fourth in the 2009 Just Plain Folks awards for Best Album, Solo Piano category. In response to requests from friends and family, Rhonda recorded and released her debut CD, “When the Moon Cries” in the fall of 2007. As an adult, she moved back to the piano where she found greater freedom of expression. At twelve she changed her musical focus to the flute. Rhonda grew up in the mountains of Colorado where she began taking piano lessons at age eight. Indeed her piano compositions are tender, evocative and heartfelt, drawn from her own personal journey where she finds inspiration from her spiritual life, relationships and the beauty and mystery of nature.
